Fun at Michigan Fiber Festival
We were camping in a small tent for 4 days. The weather cooperated until Sat. night. Then the deluge started, and it rained all night. I also heard thunder and lightning at one point. I wasn’t sleeping too well anyway, but I could feel the water coming up through the sides of the tent, getting all of our stuff wet. Not a pleasant feeling. The next morning it continued to rain, but I had my trusty poncho, so I was ok. My friend, MJ, couldn’t find her rain gear, but came up with a very creative idea. She used the red-checked plastic tablecloth as her poncho. She looked just like Little Red Riding Hood. It was hilarious, with all the looks she was getting from passers-by.
Now it’s Tuesday, and I have finally gotten all of my camping gear dried off, just in time to enter the Michigan State Fair with my sheep fleeces, gourds, mini Indian corn, and dill. I’ll keep you posted on my winnings.

Hey, I agree, it was a great weekend. I’ll have rug hooking and hairpin lace (hopefully something finished) for show and tell at CC in Sept. I had so much fun I can’t wait to go back next year. I also think it’s great we made some new friends. Good luck at the State Fair.
