New Year Toenail Trimming!!

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Liam the Icelandic sheep needed his little hooves trimmed, and apparently was not in the mood for it. He was very feisty, and I had a hard time getting him to hold still long enough to trim the 4 hooves. I gave him extra grain as a reward when I finally finished. Besides the normal trimming when he is sheared in the spring, I need to trim his feet about quarterly. The other sheep are fine with just the once each year at shearing time.

Robin the Horse and Hershey the Donkey have their hooves trimmed by a farrier every 8 weeks. They stand very well for him.

Dollie Llama is pretty good when I trim her toenails. Hers need trimming just a couple times each year.
